Penshurst offers a treat for the casual visitor, keen walkers and students of history.
Penshurst Place & Gardens, the 14th century home of Lord De L’Isle, is open to the public from Easter until the early autumn.
The village offers a wealth of good hostelries - the Leicester Arms (re opening soon), the Bottle House and the Spotted Dog. There are also two tea rooms and a thriving village shop with a post office. Leaflets describing walks around Penshurst Park are available at the shop and at Penshurst Place Gift Shop.
The Penshurst Farmers’ Market takes place on the first Saturday of every month. |
